Kinetic’s partnership with Jio Things will leverage a full-stack IoT ecosystem, integrating connectivity, cloud infrastructure, device management and support to enable next-gen connected EVs.
Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd. (KWV), the electric mobility arm of Kinetic Engineering Ltd., has announced a strategic technology partnership with Jio Things Limited, a subsidiary of Jio Platforms. The collaboration aims to introduce next-generation connected technologies across all upcoming Kinetic electric two-wheeler models, strengthening India’s transition towards intelligent and accessible electric mobility.
As part of the partnership, KWV will integrate advanced voice-assisted controls, IoT-enabled smart digital instrument clusters, and connected vehicle technologies into its EV portfolio. These features are designed to enhance rider convenience, safety, and real-time performance monitoring, while also improving the overall ownership experience.
The connected mobility platform will be uniformly embedded across future Kinetic two-wheeler models, for both personal and commercial users. The collaboration will leverage Jio Things’ full-stack IoT ecosystem, which includes edge devices, connectivity, cloud infrastructure, remote device management, and aftermarket support.
Through this integration, Kinetic EVs will offer a wide range of digital capabilities such as voice-assisted vehicle interaction, real-time ride data, connected diagnostics, enhanced infotainment features, and cloud-based analytics. For fleet operators, the system will enable improved telematics, performance insights, and operational efficiency, helping reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Commenting on the partnership, Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd., said the collaboration aligns with Kinetic’s long-standing philosophy of democratizing mobility and innovation. He noted that the addition of voice assistance and connected features builds on the company’s “Easy” approach to ownership, complementing practical solutions such as Easy Key, Easy Flip, and Easy Charge.
Ashish Lodha, President at Jio Platforms, highlighted that the partnership reflects Jio’s vision of building a connected automotive ecosystem in India. By bringing voice assistance and IoT capabilities to the two-wheeler segment, the collaboration aims to redefine rider-vehicle interaction and make smart mobility accessible to a wider audience.
By combining KWV’s engineering and manufacturing expertise with Jio’s digital innovation, the objective of this partnership is to make connected EVs more mainstream and affordable. The initiative is also expected to enhance rider safety, improve digital uptime, and support India’s broader goals of smart, safe, and sustainable transportation.
