The upgrades made to the latest KTM 1390 Super Adventure S are on the same lines as the more potent Super Adventure S Evo, with just one exception.
After the all-out performance-oriented Super Adventure S Evo, comes its slightly toned down sibling, the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S. Slated for an official showcase at the upcoming 2024 EICMA, the new KTM 1390 Super Adventure S builds on the same reputation as the S Evo, albeit with a few omissions.
Like the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo, the new KTM 1390 Super Adventure S is also built around the same, stiffer frame i.e. nicely wrapped around a completely new bodywork design. Consequently, the LED headlight, and windshield are also all-new, and the new 1390 Super Adventure S now features more storage compartments. Just like the off-road centric S EVO, the Super Adventure S also gets 10 mm wider footpegs that sit 8 mm lower allowing for more legroom space, and ease when riding standing up.
The new frame is sprung by WP’s latest semi-active suspension system with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. The resultant upgrade allows for more precise damping and rebound across varying road conditions. However, KTM has not mentioned anything about providing the Suspension Pro package, which is available as an option with the S Evo. Brakes have also been updated for Brembo monobloc calipers clasping 320 mm discs at the front, and a 2-piston, fixed caliper acting on a 267 mm single-disc. Lastly, unlike the S Evo which comes standard with Dunlop Trailmax Meridian tyres, the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S comes with Dunlop Meridian tyres as standard, shod around the same 19-/17-inch alloy wheels.
Nestled inside this frame is the same V-twin engine with increased capacity of 1,350 cc. This mill with a 78-degree crank churns out the same 173 bhp and 145 Nm. However, unlike the S Evo, which gets KTM’s latest AMT gearbox as standard, the 1390 Super Adventure S still makes do with the 6-speed manual transmission gearbox as the only option. However, the new Camshift Variable Valve Timing has been retained, which allows for much-optimised performance across torque curve.
To tap the added performance efficiently, the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S will have the same set of multiple ride modes, motorcycle traction control, cornering ABS, etc – all of which are further enhanced by a six-axis IMU. All these new features can be accessed and toggled with on the new 8-inch vertical touchscreen TFT instrument, which again is shared with the more premium S Evo.
The new 2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S will be available in global markets from early 2025 onwards. In India, KTM is slated to launch a slew of new big bikes, which includes the latest 1390 Super Duke, and the 790 Adventure. To get the full detailed report of the same, head to the link here.
