The RC 160 is an India-specific product for KTM and its most affordable supersport offering in our market.
KTM has expanded its motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the all-new KTM RC 160, which has been positioned as its entry-level supersports offering for the Indian market. Priced at ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new RC 160 is now available across KTM dealerships nationwide and just like its sibling, the KTM 160 Duke, it’s also an India-specific model.
The styling of the new KTM RC 160 is similar to that of the RC 200 and the RC 390. The only distinguishing factors are the redesigned graphics and it gets an underbelly exhaust similar to the RC 200. We also expect the RC 160 to be equipped with a LCD instrument console instead of a TFT unit to keep costs under check. However, last month KTM also introduced a TFT variant on the 160 Duke.
Powering the motorcycle is a 164.2 cc, liquid-cooled SOHC engine that produces 18.74 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, it also features a assist & slipper clutch. The revv happy engine delivers a top speed of 118 kmph. In terms of hardware, the RC 160 comes equipped with a 37 mm inverted front fork and a monoshock rear suspension. Stopping power is courtesy a 320 mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes, and dual-channel ABS with Supermoto mode comes as standard.

Speaking at the launch of the KTM RC 160, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd said, “With the new RC 160, we are bringing that same track-bred character to a wider audience. It’s a motorcycle that captures the thrill of factory racing and makes it accessible to every young rider who dreams of speed, control, and confidence on two wheels. The RC 160 is not just an entry point; it’s the first step into the exhilarating world of KTM performance.”
The KTM RC 160 will rival the Yamaha R15 V4, prices for which range between ₹1.66 and ₹1.71 lakh. The R15’s motor delivers 18.15 bhp and 14.2 Nm of peak torque.
