India to get a powerful plug-in hybrid SUV next month.
Lamborghini is all set to launch the mighty Urus SE plug-in hybrid in India on August 9, 2024. This Lamborghini Urus variant is the most potent iteration yet with a combined output of 789 bhp and a staggering 950 Nm of torque.
Lamborghini Urus SE features a sportier look compared to the other versions. A redesigned hood extends towards the grille. This is flanked by slimmer LED headlights with J-shaped daytime running lights. Recently there has been a recall for the Risk Of Hood Flying Off. Read more. The front and rear bumpers have a new design and the tailgate gets a revision as well.
Lamborghini Urus SE isn't just about power. It offers a luxurious and technologically advanced cabin environment. The use of new trim panels throughout the interior creates a fresh look, while the switchgear receives revisions for improved ergonomics.
The most significant change is the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the previous 10.1-inch unit. This larger display promises a more intuitive and engaging user experience.
The heart of the Lamborghini Urus SE lies in its innovative powertrain. It combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with a plug-in hybrid system powered by a 25.9 kWh battery pack. This electrifying combination delivers impressive muscle – 0 to 100 kmph comes in a mere 3.4 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 312 kmph. Lamborghini claims an electric-only range of up to 60 km, making short commutes in EV mode possible.
Specific details about the Urus SE's wheels and tyres for the Indian market haven't been revealed yet. However, internationally, the Urus SE offers a choice of 21-, 22-, or 23-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres. These high-performance tyres are designed to handle the immense power and grip required by the Lamborghini Urus SE's sporty driving dynamics.
Lamborghini equips the Urus SE with a formidable braking system to match its performance. The SUV features carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. These brakes offer exceptional stopping power and fade resistance, crucial for a vehicle with such a high top speed.
Considering the advanced hybrid technology, the Lamborghini Urus SE is expected to carry a significant price premium over the Urus S which is priced at ₹ 4.18 crore. This high-performance SUV will compete with other luxurious offerings in the market, such as the BMW XM, Audi RSQ8, Lotus Eletre, Porsche Cayenne GTS, and Aston DBX 707.
