Roughly nine months after its international debut, the Lenovo Legion Go handheld gaming console has been launched in India. This device will take on the Asus ROG Ally, MSI Claw, and even the Steam Deck, offering users a large 8.8-inch screen and detachable controllers, so it can be used in multiple play styles. The Legion Go has been priced at Rs. 89,990 in India and will be sold through Lenovo’s own website, Flipkart, and other authorised dealers from July 1. A screen protector is included at no extra cost.
The Lenovo Legion Go is based on AMD’s Ryzen 1 Extreme CPU with integrated AMD Radeon graphics. It has 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, and a microSD card slot for up to 2TB of additional storage space. The 8.8-inch display has a resolution of 2660x1600 with a 16:10 aspect ratio, up to 500nits brightness, 144Hz peak refresh rate, and 97 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.
Weighing 854g, it has a 49.2Wh battery with additional 900mAh batteries in each controller. The device can be charged up to 70 percent in 30 minutes. A power bypass mode allows for gaming directly on mains power while plugged in, avoiding battery discharge and reducing heat.
An integrated kickstand lets users place the console on a table or any surface, and use the controllers to play games from a comfortable distance. Hall-effect joysticks are said to be resistant to drift and have minimal dead zones. There’s a mouse wheel and optical eye on the rear of the right controller, allowing mouse-like control in FPS games when used with an included magnetic base attachment. The Legion Go also has all the usual game controller buttons including analogue trigger buttons, bumpers, six assignable grip buttons, plus a large trackpad.
The console has two USB4 Type-C ports allowing for power delivery as well as DisplayPort 1.4 video output, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual 2W speakers.
