Deliveries for the BE 6 and XEV 9e began on March 20, 2025.
Mahindra and Mahindra, in its latest earnings call, highlighted that it has delivered more than 6,300 electric vehicles (EVs) in India in 40 days. The electric vehicles in question are the BE 6 and XEV 9e, whose deliveries began in late March 2025. On the first day of the bookings being opened, Mahindra got more than 30,000 orders for the two electric SUVs.
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Auto & Farm Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra, said, “We have till now delivered, till a couple of days back, 6,300 (electric) vehicles. We started deliveries of (electric) vehicles on the 20th of March and in a period of about 40 days, delivered 6,300 vehicles to customers.”
Jejurikar further added that, “The fact that our average selling price is significantly higher than everyone else, makes us a strong number 1 player by revenue market share. And as we’ve said earlier, in EVs, our target is not the volume market share like it is in the SUV space, it is the revenue market share.”
In less than a month since deliveries began in March 2025, Mahindra delivered more than 3,000 units of the BE 6 and XEV 9e. At the time, Mahindra highlighted that 59 per cent of the vehicles delivered were the larger XEV 9e, while the rest were BE 6. Mahindra now states that the remaining bookings will have a waiting period of 4-5 months.
Jejurikar also highlighted that delivering an EV takes more time compared to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. He added that the delivery explanation process to a customer takes minimum 2-3 hours.
