Mahindra Passenger Vehicle Business Sees Seasonal Dip Amidst Market Leaders

Year-to-August, utility vehicle sales stand at 241,337 units, marking a 15% increase over the same period last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s passenger vehicle division recorded 39,399 domestic SUV sales in August 2025, a 9% month-on-month decline from July’s 43,277 units, as dealers moderated wholesales ahead of GST rationalisation. Year-to-August, utility vehicle sales stand at 241,337 units, marking a 15% increase over the same period last year.

In contrast, Maruti Suzuki led August passenger car sales with 137,776 domestic sales, marginally up 0.2% month-on-month and flat year-on-year. Hyundai India’s total passenger vehicle volumes held steady at around 43,973 units in August, edging down just 0.1% from July. Tata Motors reported 39,521 domestic passenger vehicle sales in August, a 6.1% month-on-month rise as its Nexon and Punch continued strong performance.
