Mahindra has laid out a path for the future at the centre of which lies the Thar.e concept.
Mahindra recently unveiled two important concept vehicles and made a boatload of announcements for the future. The homegrown Indian brand hosted their annual event on August 15 in Cape Town, South Africa. The biggest announcement that caught the eye of the whole automotive space in India and abroad was the unveiling of the Thar.e concept. Infact, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra, recently tweeted about the Thar.e stating, ‘Nope. Not just a concept. From the moment we all saw the prototype we were committed to making this a reality…’
Underpinning the Thar.e's groundbreaking attribute is the Inglo-P1 platform, engineered by Mahindra for electric vehicles. This platform's adaptability allows for seamless integration of electrification while maintaining the vehicle's core design characteristics. The adjustable wheelbase, varying between 2775 mm and 2975 mm, accommodates both the battery pack and the extra doors present in the five-door configuration. Apart from the Thar.e, Mahindra also unveiled the Scorpio N-based Global Pik Up concept. The company stated that it will first be introduced in international markets and will then find its way to India. There was also the announcement of the Oja lightweight 4WD tractors for global markets along with the unveiling of a new logo for future electric vehicles from the house of Mahindra. Last but not least, the Indian automotive giants also announced a new anthem made in collaboration with A.R. Rahman.
