The upcoming Thar Roxx sits on a longer wheelbase.
Mahindra is set to launch the Thar Roxx, the 5-door version of the rugged SUV, on August 15. Ahead of the launch, the Indian carmaker has shared a new teaser that reveals more images of the Thar Roxx. The upcoming Thar Roxx is the long-wheelbase version of the current generation Thar and goes up against the Force Gurkha 5-door, which was launched recently as well as the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.

The new teaser shows that the Thar Roxx will have a new grille, headlamps with circular DRLs and a revised front bumper. Additionally, it also shows that the Thar Roxx will get large diamond-cut alloy wheels and C pillar-mounted door handles. However, it will also feature a more premium finish with sufficient use of chrome across the fascia and even at the rear section of the SUV. The adjacent headlamp style has also been changed and they now begin from the grille itself, instead of the independent floating style found in the 3-door Thar.
While the interior is yet to be revealed, the Thar Roxx will get a larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a single-pane sunroof and more. We are unsure of any other change on the inside, and can’t wait to see the car in the flesh to tell you more about it.
The upcoming Mahindra Thar ROXX is expected to feature the same engine options from the 3-door Thar- two diesel engines and one turbo petrol engine option. The former includes the 1.5-litre mill available with a rear-wheel drivetrain and manual gearbox option, and the 2.2-litre mill comes with the choice of both manual and automatic gearbox options, and with a 4X4 option. The 2.0-litre turbo petrol option is available with a manual or an automatic gearbox with only RWD capability.
