The Vision.S is one of four concepts that Mahindra unveiled on the 79th Independence Day.
Mahindra has unveiled the Vision.S, a new lifestyle SUV concept, as part of its Independence Day showcase. The Vision.S is one of four new concept SUVs – alongside the Vision.X, Vision.T, and Vision.SXT – based on Mahindra’s all-new nu_iQ platform.
For years, Mahindra has used August 15 as the stage to debut its boldest products and concepts. On India’s 79th Independence Day, the company revealed four SUVs, with the Vision.S positioned as a road-focused lifestyle SUV in the subcompact category.
The Vision.S Concept SUV adopts a rugged yet urban-friendly design language, looking like a smaller sibling of the Thar Roxx. Key design elements include:
Despite its off-road styling cues, the Vision.S is positioned as a lifestyle SUV that blends rugged design with road-biased usability.
Mahindra has not yet revealed the Vision.S interior. However, given the shared platform, it could feature a layout similar to the Vision.T, with digital displays, connected tech, and premium materials.
The production version of the Mahindra Vision.S is expected to arrive after 2027. With its compact dimensions and potential AWD capability, it could rival the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, as well as urban SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet (depending on final positioning).
All four Vision concepts – S, T, X, and SXT – will be manufactured at Mahindra’s Chakan plant in Pune, underscoring the company’s commitment to developing India-first global SUVs.
