Mahindra unveiled four new concept SUVs on the 79th Independence Day.
For the past five years, Mahindra & Mahindra has had a tradition of launching and unveiling new products and concepts on India’s Independence Day, and this year it showcased not one but four new concept vehicles. One of them was the Vision.T off-roader concept.
Mahindra didn’t divulge much information about any of the concepts, except only showcasing the exterior design of each. The Vision.T looks like it could be the next-gen Thar or even the Thar Roxx, as it looks exactly as rugged as those two.
The Vision.T comes with a squared-off design with a butch and macho-looking front-end. It gets a large grille flanked by squared-off headlamps with two vertical LED DRLs. It also gets a sturdy bumper with a tow hook and winch in the middle. Like the Roxx, it also gets a six-slatted grille.
The profile of the Vision.T is very similar to that of the Thar.e concept from 2023, and looks like a more evolved version of it too. It has flared and boxy wheel arches, housing chunky off-road spec tyres and dual-tone, four-spoke alloy wheels.
The Vision.T also gets a stubby rear-end, too. Post the C-pillar, the design of the rear quarter windows is quite similar to the Thar Roxx with the angular design, hinting that it could be the next Thar or Thar Roxx.
The cabin of the Vision.T has not yet been officially revealed, but at the unveiling event, it could be seen with a dashboard similar to the Thar Roxx with a large screen in the middle and circular AC vents. It could also be seen with a panoramic sunroof.
The Vision.T is built on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform, which it says will be ready for the future. The Vision.T is designed in collaboration between Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) and Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE). Both the platform and the production version of the Vision.T will be built at Mahindra’s plant in Chakan, Pune.
