Unsurprisingly, the 1.5-litre diesel engine is the most fuel-efficient of the lot.
Mahindra & Mahindra recently launched the XUV 3XO subcompact SUV in India with prices ranging between ₹7.49 and 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The facelift of the XUV300 gets many new features, a new gearbox but the engine options remain the same.
Under the hood, the XUV 3XO continues to get a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The lower state of tune is classified as the TCMPFi, while the higher state of tune is classified as the TGDi. The TCMPFi engine produces 110 bhp and 200 Nm, while the TGDi engine produces 129 bhp and 230 Nm. The XUV 3XO also gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 115 bhp and 300 Nm.
Powertrain | Fuel efficiency |
---|---|
1.2 turbo-petrol TCMPFi MT | 18.89 kmpl |
1.2 turbo-petrol TCMPFi AT | 17.96 kmpl |
1.2 turbo-petrol TGDi MT | 20.1 kmpl |
1.2 turbo-petrol TGDi AT | 18.2 kmpl |
1.5 diesel MT | 20.6 kmpl |
1.5 diesel AMT | 21.2 kmpl |
Unsurprisingly, the 1.5-litre diesel engine is the most fuel-efficient of the lot. With the 6-speed AMT gearbox, it returns 21.2 kmpl and with the 6-speed manual, it has a fuel efficiency of 20.6 kmpl.
Talking about the turbo-petrol engines, the TGDi is more powerful as well as more efficient than the TCMPFi. The TGDi with the 6-speed manual returns 20.1 kmpl and with the new 6-speed torque converter automatic, it has a fuel efficiency of 18.2 kmpl. On the other hand, the TCMPFi has a fuel efficiency of 18.89 kmpl and 17.96 kmpl with the manual and automatic gearboxes, respectively. Notably, these fuel efficiency figures have been certified by ARAI.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO gets a lot of new features like a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, driving modes and so much more. On the safety front, it gets six airbags and ESC as standard, disc brakes on all four wheels, ADAS and more.
The XUV 3XO competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
