Maruti Suzuki will launch the eVitara on 2 December 2025. The electric SUV marks the company's entry into the EV segment in India. The vehicle is manufactured at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. Over 7,000 units have been exported to the United Kingdom and Europe since August 2025.
The eVitara comes with two battery pack options. The 48.8 kWh battery delivers a range of 344 kilometres on the WLTP cycle and produces 142 bhp of power with 189 Nm of torque. The 61.1 kWh battery offers a range of over 500 kilometres on the ARAI cycle and 426 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, producing 170 bhp with the same torque figure.
Both variants feature a single front-mounted motor with front-wheel drive. DC fast charging can charge the battery from zero to 80 per cent in 50 minutes. The vehicle will be offered in three variants and ten colour options.
The eVitara comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, a fully digital driver's instrument cluster, and a 10-speaker Infinity sound system. It includes ventilated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, and a wireless phone charger. The SUV also has a fixed sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera.
Safety features include seven airbags and Level 2 ADAS technology as standard, comprising autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. The vehicle has all-wheel disc brakes and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The eVitara is expected to be priced between ₹17 lakh and ₹25 lakh ex-showroom. The SUV will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and MG Windsor EV.
