Drawing inspiration from the Maruti Fronx, the Taisor will bear a familiar design silhouette.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially announced the impending debut of the Taisor, a vehicle developed in collaboration with Maruti, scheduled to hit the Indian market on April 3, 2024. Marking the fourth product from the Maruti-Toyota partnership, the Taisor follows in the footsteps of successful ventures such as the Baleno-Glanza, Grand Vitara-Hyryder, and Hycross-Invicto pairs.
Drawing inspiration from the Maruti Fronx, the Taisor will bear a familiar design silhouette. However, Toyota aims to set it apart through distinctive elements such as a new front grille, updated front and rear bumpers, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. While the interior layout mirrors that of the Fronx, subtle differentiations may be evident in the choice of cabin theme and seat upholstery.
Packed with an array of features, the Taisor promises a tech-savvy driving experience. Highlights include a nine-inch smart touchscreen infotainment system boasting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a wireless charging pad, rear AC vents, cruise control, HUD (Head-Up Display), and a 360-degree camera setup.
Under the hood, the Taisor is expected to retain the engine options found in the Maruti Fronx lineup. This could include a choice between a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine delivering 89 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 99 bhp and 148 Nm of torque. Transmission options may encompass a 5-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter, or an AMT gearbox.
Upon its launch, the Toyota Taisor will enter a competitive segment, challenging contenders like the Maruti Fronx, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
