The highly anticipated new SUV has set a new benchmark with a score of 31.66/32 for adult occupant protection.
In a significant milestone for Indian automotive safety standards, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris has secured an exemplary safety rating from Bharat NCAP (BNCAP), achieving 31.66 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 43 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP) following rigorous crash testing conducted in August 2025.
The two-row SUV, tested in its ZXI+ Strong Hybrid eCVT, ZXI+(O) Strong Hybrid eCVT, and ZXI+(O) 6AT variants, has established itself among the safest vehicles ever evaluated by India's premier safety assessment programme.

The Victoris demonstrated exceptional structural integrity, scoring 15.66 out of 16 points in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and achieving a perfect 16 out of 16 points in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. The comprehensive evaluation rated the vehicle's performance as 'Good' across multiple impact scenarios, with only marginal ratings observed in specific pole impact test categories.
The Victoris comes equipped with an extensive array of standard safety features across all variants, including six airbags (frontal, side head curtain, and side chest airbags), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), seat belt pretensioners with force limiters, and ISOFIX child seat mounting points. The vehicle also incorporates pedestrian protection systems and seat belt reminders, meeting stringent AIS safety standards.
When positioned against other BNCAP-tested vehicles, the Victoris joins an elite group of high-performing SUVs. The Mahindra XEV 9e currently holds the distinction of being the first vehicle to achieve a perfect 32/32 rating in adult occupant protection, while the Tata Harrier EV also secured the maximum points.
In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire achieved 29.46/32 points in AOP, while the popular Maruti Baleno recorded 26.52/32 points for its top-spec variants. The Tata Nexon, widely regarded as a safety benchmark, scored 29.41/32 in BNCAP testing, highlighting the Victoris's superior performance in this category.
For child occupant protection, the Victoris scored 43/49 points, with perfect scores in dynamic testing (24/24) and CRS installation assessment (12/12). While achieving 7/13 points in vehicle assessment scoring, the overall performance ensures comprehensive protection for younger passengers across all seating positions.
The vehicle's robust construction utilises advanced high-strength steel and strategic crumple zones to manage impact energy effectively. Standard Electronic Stability Control across all variants ensures optimal vehicle dynamics, while comprehensive airbag deployment provides multi-directional occupant protection.
With safety regulations becoming increasingly stringent and consumer awareness at an all-time high, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris's outstanding BNCAP performance establishes new benchmarks for the compact SUV segment, reinforcing India's evolving automotive safety landscape.
