Maruti Suzuki sold nearly 38,000 compact SUVs in December 2025, of which 24,000 units comprised the Grand Vitara and 14,000 units were contributed by the Victoris.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has received over 70,000 bookings since its launch, a senior official from the company revealed recently. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, confirmed the development while sharing data on sales for 2025. The Victoris is the second offering from the automaker in the compact SUV segment after the Grand Vitara, and has been off to a solid start, since its launch in September last year.

Maruti further revealed that the company is addressing the growing demand for the Victoris and has delivered over 35,000 units to customers so far. The growing preference for SUVs across segments has been instrumental for Maruti’s overall volumes. Banerjee explained that SUVs now contribute 55.3 per cent to the total share in sales. Moreover, Maruti crossed the five lakh milestone in SUV sales in the 2025 calendar year. Apart from the Victoris and Grand Vitara, the Fronx and Brezza remain the top-selling SUVs from the automaker, and are also on the top 10 best-selling cars list for the year.

The new Victoris shares its underpinnings with the Grand Vitara but Maruti has given the model a distinct identity with a completely new design. The SUV also features a feature-loaded cabin, but its stand-out bits actually include a five-star rating at both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP, a first-ever for the carmaker. The CNG version also gets an underbody tank, and the innovative packaging has helped liberate more room in the boot.

Other notable features include Level 2 ADAS, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and more. The Victoris gets the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain options from the Grand Vitara, including an All-Wheel Drive version. The SUV is priced between Rs 10.50 and Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the starting price about Rs 49,000 cheaper than the new-gen Kia Seltos.
