Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe India Launch On August 12

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 coupé is all set to make its India debut on August 12, the company has confirmed. First unveiled globally in December 2023, the CLE 53 replaces both the C-Class and E-Class coupés, streamlining the lineup into a single performance-oriented luxury coupé. Positioned as a grand tourer, the new CLE 53 gets a more aggressive stance and wider track, with the front widened by 58 mm and the rear by 75 mm.

• Sleeker LED headlights with DRLs
• Sculpted hood and raked windshield
• Standard 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch optional)
• Two-part LED taillights connected by a piano black trim
• Quad exhaust setup integrated into the diffuser

The interior is equally performance-focused. The cabin comes equipped with AMG Performance seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls. Drivers will also benefit from a fully digital cockpit setup.

The CLE 53 coupé is powered by the M256 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbocharged engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It produces 443 bhp and 560 Nm of peak torque, with an additional 40 Nm torque boost via the overboost function. Power is transferred through a 9-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels using Mercedes' 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.

Rivals

The upcoming AMG CLE 53 Coupé is expected to be priced above the outgoing C-Class Coupé and will directly rival the BMW M2 (₹1.03 crore) and Audi RS5 (₹1.13 crore), both ex-showroom prices in India. Once launched, it will be the first AMG variant in the CLE lineup for the Indian market, joining the existing but non-AMG CLE Cabriolet, priced at ₹1.1 crore (ex-showroom).
