Mercedes-AMG is all set to launch its latest model in India, the GLC 43 4Matic Coupe. Prices for the high-performance coupe SUV will be announced on August 8 and it is expected to cross the ₹1 crore (ex-showroom, India) mark.
The AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid assist and a 9-speed automatic transmission with a wet clutch. The engine churns out a healthy 416 bhp and 500 Nm, and the hybrid assist gives it a boost of 13 bhp and 150 Nm. That engine also comes with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger inspired by the brand’s Formula 1 team. It also has an all-wheel drive configuration with four-wheel steering, an active exhaust system, and all-wheel disc brakes.
The new coupe SUV doesn’t look very different from the standard GLC but gets some unique AMG touches. It gets the AMG Panamericana grille, a different front bumper with canards on the edges, a bigger front splitter, 20-inch alloy wheels as standard (21-inchers are optional), a lip spoiler, quad exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. Mercedes-AMG offers nine colour options for the GLC 43.
Inside, the dashboard layout hasn’t changed from the regular GLC but the inlays are now carbon fibre instead of pinstripes. It also gets the AMG steering wheel with two knobs in the middle. It gets the same 11.9-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen but gets an AMG button to change the vehicle’s settings. Also in the features list are the 12.3-inch digital cluster, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, cruise control and 360-degree camera. Safety features include 9 airbags, active braking assist, lane keep assist and more.
The AMG GLC 43 4Matic rivals the Porsche Macan which is priced between ₹96.05 lakh and ₹1.53 crore (ex-showroom, India). The AMG coupe SUV is expected to be priced at around ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom, India). Want to know it drives? Watch the video below or read our review.
