Actor and producer Brad Pitt has joined Mercedes-AMG as the face of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, with a stunt in Las Vegas marking the start of the partnership.
Mercedes-AMG announced the tie-up at an event in Las Vegas that brought together Pitt, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One driver George Russell and a prototype of the GT 4-Door Coupe.
In the filmed sequence, set at a valet stand, Pitt waits for his car and finds Russell behind the wheel. Russell then drives the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe prototype through a series of moves on roads closed to normal traffic for the shoot.
According to Mercedes-AMG, the stunt sequence shows the road car that will use the AMG.EA architecture and go on sale after a launch event in the year 2026. The GT 4-Door Coupe will be the first series model from the brand on this architecture.
The production car will use three axial flux motors and a battery with a liquid-based cooling system. Mercedes-AMG says the set-up is aimed at repeatable performance for road use and track use, with a focus on constant power delivery.

The technology first appeared in the Concept AMG GT XX, which set a lap record at the Nardo test centre in southern Italy earlier this year. The upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will share core parts of that drive system.
Pitt links with Mercedes-AMG alongside his work on "F1 The Movie", in which he plays a Formula One driver. The film uses support from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team for access to circuits, cars and technical input.

Mercedes-AMG chief executive Michael Schiebe said the company sees Pitt as a fit for the GT 4-Door Coupe project and for the brand’s focus on performance and technology. Pitt said the association reflects his interest in cars both on screen and away from work.
Russell said he enjoyed time with the GT 4-Door Coupe prototype during the Las Vegas shoot and that fans can expect a link between the road car and the work of the Formula One team.
Mercedes-Benz AG, the parent company of Mercedes-AMG, employs about 1.75 lakh people across the world. In 2024, it sold about 24 lakh passenger cars and vans.
The group runs more than 30 production sites on four continents and is building a network of battery plants across Europe, Asia and North America. The company says it aims to grow sales of cars and vans with battery-based drive systems and develop more software-led features for its line-up.
