Mercedes-Benz India has revealed the EQA in India, its latest and smallest electric vehicle. The brand will be bringing the entry-level EQA 250+ variant in India, while other variants could join the line-up later. The EQA is an all-electric version of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, all set to be launched in the country on July 8, 2024.
The EQA was facelifted globally in 2023 and India will be getting the facelifted version. It gets a slim LED lightbar at the front, a black panel front grille with a star pattern, chrome accents in the bumpers and side skirts, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels as well as a lightbar connecting the taillamps. The EQA is available in seven colour options including Polar White, High-tech Silver, Cosmos Black, Mountain Grey, Spectral Blue, Patagonia Red and Mountain Grey Magno.

Mercedes-Benz’s smallest EV measures 4463 mm in length, 1834 mm in width and 1624 mm in height. In comparison to the GLA, the EQA is 27 mm longer and 19 mm taller. However, it is identical in width compared to its ICE counterpart.
Inside, the EQA’s cabin isn’t much different compared to the GLA apart from the copper accents in the AC vents and star pattern on the dashboard trims. The cabin gets a dual-tone Grey and Rose Gold finish and comes with Mercedes-Benz’s new steering wheel.

The EQA gets a dual 10.25-inch binnacle where one screen is the infotainment touchscreen running MBUX with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as gesture controls. The other screen is a digital instrument cluster. Other features of the EQA include ambient lighting, four driving modes, a 12-speaker Burmester audio system, run-flat tyres, blind spot monitoring, a head-up display, a wireless charger, five USB Type C ports, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, connected car tech and a 360-degree camera.
The Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+ gets a front axle-mounted electric motor producing 188 bhp and 385 Nm. Mercedes-Benz claims the EQA 250+ can do the 0-100 kmph run in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 160 kmph. Its 70.5 kWh battery pack is claimed to have a WLTP range of up to 560 km. With a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 - 80 per cent in 35 minutes and it can be fully charged in 7 hours 15 minutes using an 11 kW charger.

The Mercedes-Benz EQA is expected to cost around ₹60 - 65 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and will rival the BMW iX1 (₹49.50 - 66.90 lakh), Volvo XC40 Recharge (₹54.95 - 59.70 lakh), Hyundai Ioniq 5 (₹46.05 lakh) and Kia EV6 (₹60.95 - 66.95 lakh).
