Mercedes-Benz India has announced a two-stage revision in the ex-showroom prices of its entire model range, citing steep foreign exchange fluctuations that have significantly impacted import costs. The first round of price increases will take effect from June 1, 2025, followed by a further 1.5 per cent hike on September 1, 2025.
The German automaker attributes the price correction to a nearly 10 per cent depreciation in the Euro-to-Indian Rupee exchange rate over the past four months. This drop has notably escalated the cost of importing both components and completely built units (CBUs), despite the company’s efforts to absorb much of the financial impact through increased localisation of production.
"This staggered approach to price revision is designed to minimize the financial burden on customers," said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India. “Although we have absorbed much of the currency impact thus far, the continuing rise in operational costs has made a modest price correction necessary.”
Effective June 1, 2025, the new ex-showroom prices will reflect a price increase ranging from ₹90,000 to ₹12.2 lakh, depending on the model.
Model | Current Price (ex-showroom, India) | New Price (ex-showroom, India) | Difference |
---|---|---|---|
C 200 | ₹59.4 lakh | ₹60.3 lakh | ₹90,000 |
GLC 300 4MATIC | ₹76.8 lakh | ₹78.3 lakh | ₹1.5 lakh |
E 200 | ₹79.5 lakh | ₹81.5 lakh | ₹2 lakh |
GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line | ₹99 lakh | ₹1.01 crore | ₹2.5 lakh |
EQS SUV 450 4MATIC | ₹1.28 crore | ₹1.31 crore | ₹3 lakh |
GLS 450 4MATIC | ₹1.34 crore | ₹1.37 crore | ₹3.1 lakh |
Mercedes-Maybach S 680 | ₹3.47 crore | ₹3.60 crore | ₹12.2 lakh |
The second phase, starting September 1, will add an additional price increase of up to 1.5 per cent across the portfolio. According to the company, for popular models such as the GLA and GLC, the monthly EMI increase will be under ₹2,000.
