Mercedes-Benz India has issued a recall for several models like the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, AMG GT, G-Class and AMG E-Class. The first two models have been recalled due to an issue with their engine control units (ECU), while the others were recalled due to a fault in the fuel delivery module.
2,543 units of the E-Class, manufactured between April 29, 2022, and August 20, 2024, have been recalled. On the other hand, only three units of the C-Class manufactured between August 31 and October 31, 202,1 have been recalled. As per the recall statement on SIAM’s website, Mercedes-Benz claims the software of the ECU may not “correspond to the current specifications”. It says when exiting the sailing (coasting) mode, the fuel injection system may get deactivated which could cause the vehicle to lose power, leading to a possible collision.
In a separate recall, 96 units (combined) of the S-Class, GLC, AMG GT, G-Class and AMG E-Class were recalled because the fuel delivery system in the car may not meet the required specifications. Mercedes-Benz says the fuel pump could get switched off due to the fuel delivery module being impaired. Ultimately, this could lead the car to lose power, leading to a possible collision.
Mercedes-Benz says the faulty part could affect S-Class units built between July 20, 2022, and August 29, 2023; G-Class built between August 17, 2022, and December 20, 2022; AMG E-Class built between October 9, 2021, and October 18, 2022; AMG GT and GLC units built around October 2022.
