Mercedes-Benz leads India's luxury automotive segment, ahead of the second best-seller BMW India, which retailed 18,001 units (BMW + MINI) in CY2025.
Mercedes-Benz India recorded its best-ever year in terms of revenue with 19,007 cars retailed in the 2025 calendar year. The carmaker leads the luxury automotive segment and is ahead of the second best-seller, BMW India, which retailed 18,001 units (BMW + MINI) last year. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class remained the best-selling luxury car in India in 2025.
Sharing details about its sales performance, Mercedes-Benz India revealed that EVs registered a 12 per cent growth year-on-year in 2025, and now comprise about 20 per cent of all top-end vehicle sales in India. About 70 per cent of all EVs sold last year were priced between ₹1.25 crore and ₹3.10 crore (ex-showroom). The manufacturer further revealed that the EQS Maybach SUV, G580 and EQS SUV witnessed strong demand last year. The EQS SUV was the highest-selling luxury EV for Mercedes-Benz India.

Top-End Vehicles (TEV) portfolio comprising the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach and AMG models saw an 11 per cent hike and 25 per cent sales penetration. The E-Class LWB continued to not only lead its segment, but was the highest selling luxury car in the country last year. The E-Class is available with two petrol options, and is the only offering in the segment to currently offer a diesel. Sales for the power-packed AMG models grew by 34 per cent with strong demand for the AMG G63, AMG CLE53 and AMG GLC43.
The entry luxury segment contributed 13 per cent to overall sales with models like the GLA and A-Class. The lineup will soon have the new-generation CLA EV. Up next, the Core segment, comprising the C-Class, GLC, E-Class, GLE, and more, contributed the highest at 62 per cent. Lastly, the Top-End segment contributed 25 per cent to overall volumes in CY2025.

Mercedes further revealed that it has received sustained demand for the automaker’s sedans, including the C-Class, E-Class LWB, S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. SUVs continue to boast strong demand, with models such as the GLA, GLC, GLE, GLS, Mercedes-Maybach GLS and the AMG G63 SUV.
Mercedes-Benz India is now kicking off 2026 with the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS ‘Celebration Edition’ priced at ₹4.10 crore. The EQS SUV ‘Celebration Edition’ has also been launched and is priced at ₹1.34 crore (5-seater) and ₹1.48 crore (7-seater) respectively. The new Celebration Editions have been announced to celebrate the massive success of both the GLS and EQS SUV models in India. Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to launch 12 models in India in 2026, continuing its dominance in the market.
