While the Vision V remains a concept, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that a production version will debut in 2026.

Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off its latest concept vehicle—the Vision V—offering a detailed preview of the brand’s forthcoming luxury electric van. Built on the VAN.EA platform, the new architecture announced in 2023 is set to underpin a range of electric vans starting in 2026. With the Vision V, Mercedes targets a niche segment in the United States that has largely been overlooked: high-end, privately owned vans.

Designed to serve both as a premium limousine and a luxury family vehicle, the Vision V presents a dramatic departure from the utilitarian image typically associated with vans. It features a bold, streamlined exterior with short overhangs and massive 24-inch illuminated wheels that establish a commanding road presence. At the front, a reimagined grille blends chrome and light elements, flanked by LED headlamps connected via a full-width light bar. An illuminated three-pointed-star hood ornament reinforces its luxury credentials. The rear design mirrors this treatment with a wraparound light strip embedded in a glass panel that defines the rear fascia.

Inside, the Vision V embodies the concept of a "rolling lounge" more fully than most recent show cars. Accessed through large sliding doors with retractable illuminated running boards, the cabin is upholstered in white Nappa leather and silk, accented with real wood trim and polished aluminum. Glass display cabinets on each side house elegant items, including a custom glass chess set. The highlight of the interior is a massive 65-inch 4K screen that rises from the floor behind a glass partition, which can change from transparent to opaque at the push of a button. This display enables immersive viewing experiences, powered by seven projectors hidden in the floor and ceiling, with side windows that can also become opaque to act as additional screens.

Seating arrangements in the Vision V emphasise flexibility and comfort. Rear seats are made from modular tubular cushions that can fully recline to form beds. A touchpad-equipped center console doubles as a fold-out table or gaming station. The Dolby Atmos sound system, with 42 strategically placed speakers—including four encased in glass pillars—further enhances the sensory experience.

Mercedes has equipped the Vision V with a suite of "digital environments" designed to transform the cabin into various functional spaces. Entertainment Mode enables streaming of audio and video content, while Relax Mode plays calming visuals with ambient sound. Work Mode turns the van into a mobile office, and Gaming Mode allows virtual driving experiences synced with real-world motion. Additional features include a Karaoke function, a Shopping Mode offering access to digital storefronts, and a Discovery Mode that uses AR to simulate a 360-degree view of the outside world.

Ambient lighting, a fragrance diffuser, and a ceiling-mounted lamp round out the van’s emphasis on comfort and sensory stimulation. Up front, the driver’s area features a widescreen “Superscreen” dashboard and high-grade materials, ensuring the front cabin doesn’t feel neglected.

While the Vision V remains a concept, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that a production version will debut in 2026. Though some of the more extravagant elements may not carry over to the final model, the overarching focus on luxury, digital integration, and electric mobility will be central to the van’s market offering. Positioned to challenge luxury SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator, the production van will aim to attract affluent buyers looking for an alternative take on premium personal transport.
