MG Motor India is getting ready to launch its most powerful and performance-focused model, the MG Cyberster, on July 25, 2025. This marks MG’s entry into the electric sports car market. The car will be sold through the brand’s new premium channel, MG Select. The Cyberster has already created excitement thanks to early previews, including an EXCLUSIVE drive by our editor-in-chief, Siddharth Vinayak Patankar. You can read his review here and watch the video below.
The Cyberster will come to India via the CBU route, but prices will be aggressive. The Cyberster is expected to be priced around ₹65-70 lakh, making it an affordable proposition. Yes, it will attract a high customs duty, but MG could still manage to pull off this price.

The Cyberster features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system and a 77 kWh battery pack. It produces 510 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds. With a certified range of up to 580 km (CLTC).
The design doesn’t move away much from the concept. It has a drag coefficient of 0.269, which makes it very aerodynamic. It has a sharply sculpted front, LED DRLs, 20-inch alloy wheels, a coupe-style silhouette, and a Kammback-style rear that create a striking look. Scissor-style doors with radar sensors and anti-pinch protection add to its uniqueness.

Inside, the Cyberster has a triple-screen layout, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and two 7-inch auxiliary displays, along with a vertical 7-inch infotainment screen. Features include dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, ventilated and powered seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a Bose 8-speaker sound system. A soft-top convertible roof enhances its roadster personality.
The Cyberster comes with a complete safety package that includes multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a Level 2 ADAS system with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and more. This places it competitively among tech-forward performance cars priced from ₹50–70 lakh.

Pre-bookings started in March 2025, and deliveries will begin shortly after the launch through MG’s Select retail outlets in major cities. The CBU assembly and focused strategy will allow MG to provide a premium ownership experience tailored to Cyberster customers.
At its anticipated price, the MG Cyberster faces no direct competition. Higher-end EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT are much more expensive, while traditional internal combustion engine convertibles like the BMW Z4 or Porsche 718 Boxster do not offer the Cyberster’s electric appeal and tech features. Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 N may enter the discussions, along with the BYD Seal electric sedan, but it ultimately depends on how MG prices the car.
