Expect the facelift to have extensive updates and launch sometime in 2024.
MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the facelift of the Gloster. The flagship product of MG has been spotted testing in India for the first time and was under heavy camouflage, which suggests that most of the body panels will be altered.
While the current Gloster has been on sale in India since 2020, it has received minor exterior and feature updates. This time though, the updates seem to be more extensive and expect the Gloster facelift to arrive sometime in 2024.
As seen in the spy shots, the Gloster could get a redesigned rear end with a refreshed tailgate, taillights and bumper. The rear fenders also seem to have been redesigned and seem to protrude more than before. Interestingly, the test mule seems to be missing out on roof rails which are available as standard on the current model. Other visible elements include two-tone alloy wheels, a spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp and chrome-finished side steps.
The front of the Gloster facelift was not visible but MG will likely also make major changes there. Furthermore, MG could also refresh the interior of the Gloster with the facelift and also make revisions to the features list.
MG will continue to offer the same engines on the Gloster facelift but it could have slight revision for better output. Currently, the Gloster is offered with a choice of a 159 bhp, 374 Nm, 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine and a 213 bhp, 479 Nm, 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine. Both come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. While the turbo-diesel is only available with two-wheel drive, the twin-turbo diesel engine comes with four-wheel drive.
Upon launch, the MG Gloster facelift will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq.
