The MG M9 will be the first model to retail through MG’s newly launched ‘Select’ premium network.
With the MG M9 set to launch in India on July 21, all eyes are on what could be the country’s most premium all-electric MPV to date. Following the ZS EV, Comet, and Windsor, the M9 is MG Motor’s fourth EV for India and signals a clear pivot toward high-end electric mobility. Notably, the M9 will also be the first model to retail through MG’s newly launched ‘Select’ premium network, which has opened flagship showrooms in Mumbai and New Delhi. The upcoming Cyberster electric roadster will be the next offering under this exclusive retail channel.

The second-row experience is arguably the M9’s strongest suit. Twin captain chairs with 16-way electrical adjustment, ventilation, heating, and massage functions make it one of the most luxurious rear cabins in this price bracket. Additional features like rear entertainment screens, ambient lighting, and a segment-first panoramic sunroof enhance the lounge-like appeal.
The MG M9 dimensions make it longer, wider and taller than the Kia Carnival but shorter than the Vellfire. The M9 also has a longer wheelbase.

Inside, the M9 is loaded with tech, but these are the most noteworthy ones.
The M9 gets a 90 kWh NMC battery with a single front-mounted motor producing 242 bhp and 350 Nm. MG claims a range of 548 km and says the battery can be fully recharged in 90 minutes using a 160kW DC fast charger.

The MG M9 is a bold move for MG Motor in India, debuting as the brand’s first all-electric luxury MPV. Assembled via the SKD (Semi Knocked Down) route, the M9 is expected to be priced between ₹90 lakh and ₹1 crore, positioning it as a more attainable alternative to premium ICE MPVs like the Toyota Vellfire. On paper, the M9 stands out with its tech-laden, comfort-focused cabin and advanced features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging, features that make it particularly appealing to chauffeur-driven, urban EV buyers.
