Bing's chat and enterprise chat features are now available in the desktop version of Chrome on Windows, Mac and Linux devices.

Microsoft has expanded support for its new AI-powered Bing chatbot to Google's Chrome browser. When first launched last month, the ChatGPT-based chatbot was limited to Microsoft's own Edge browser.

According to updated release notes, Bing's chat and enterprise chat features are now available in the desktop version of Chrome on Windows, Mac and Linux devices. Support will be added for other browsers on both desktop and mobile in the future, Microsoft stated.

With Chrome being the world's most popular web browser, adding support widens the reach of Bing's chatbot significantly. Between Chrome and Edge, Microsoft's AI assistant is now available on the two dominant desktop browsers.

Earlier this month, Bing chat was also integrated into the company's SwiftKey keyboard app on iOS and Android. Users can chat with the AI simply by tapping the new Bing icon in the keyboard.

For now, the chatbot allows up to 30 free conversations per day for each user without requiring a Microsoft account. The company eventually plans to enhance conversations for signed-in users by providing access to emails and calendar.

By taking the fight to Google with an impressive AI chatbot directly integrated into its search engine, Microsoft is aiming to challenge Chrome's dominance in the browser wars. Expanding to Chrome reflects its ambitions to reach as many users as possible with this competitive new Bing experience.
