Tesla had unveiled the facelifted Model 3 earlier this month.
Tesla has showcased the Model 3 facelift at the 2023 Munich Motor Show. The Model 3 facelift was unveiled earlier this month and incorporates a number of different updates. The most significant of which is the more aerodynamic front end. Tesla is said to have improved the drag coefficient of the facelifted Model 3 along with updating the front bumper and headlights.
The Elon Musk-owned automaker is also said to have improved the Model 3’s range between 5 per cent and 8 per cent. The rear-wheel drive version of the Model 3 facelift now has a claimed range of 554 km, while the Long Range version has a claimed range of 677 km. The standard rear-wheel drive variant produces 245 bhp while the Long Range version churns out 352 bhp.
Furthermore, Tesla also claims to have improved the tyre sidewalls and has introduced glazed windows along with new rubber and suspension seals. The aero-optimised wheel design is said to be 5 percent more slippery than the previous model. Apart from this, the American EV maker has also structurally reinforced the front and rear doors.
On the inside, there’s a new steering wheel design along with a brighter and more responsive 15.4-inch touchscreen. The indicator stalks have been removed in favour of the buttons on the steering wheel and even the gear shifter has to be selected via the said touchscreen. There are also 2 wireless charges, 3 USB-C charging ports and an 8-inch display at the rear to control air conditioning and the infotainment system.
Other than that, the Model 3 facelift is also said to have an improved cabin with a redesigned centre console which uses real aluminium. Tesla’s entry in India is still clouded in mystery and for now it seems that we can do is wait and watch as things unfold not only for Tesla but the EV market as a whole.
