The Serie Oro signifies the brand’s most exclusive range of motorcycles that only a lucky few can buy.
Italian motorcycle maestro MV Agusta has unleashed their latest work of art onto the world stage - the breathtaking Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro. This limited-edition marvel is capped at just 500 units, and going by reports most of them have already been picked up by the brand’s elite clientele list.
First unveiled in concept form at an exclusive dealer event in Milan in 2022, followed by a detailed prototype display at the 2023 EICMA motorcycle show, the production version of the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro was launched last evening at a staggering £61,400 (i.e. equivalent to ₹65.58 lakh). Despite Pierre Mobility owning a 50.1 per cent stake in MV Agusta, the bike has been designed entirely in-house, unlike being handed over to Kiska, which is the case with most KTM bikes.
Making this hefty price tag sound reasonable is that beautiful body design that is made up of 41 carbon fibre elements. Furthermore, MV Agusta has also paid tribute to several of its earlier motorcycles through various design elements, like the integrated front winglets that pay homage to the legendary 1972 500 Grand Prix race bike. At its heart beats an evolved 998 cc four-cylinder beast that already does duty in the Brutale 1000RR, and in the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, it produces 205.2 bhp. MV Agusta has managed to extrapolate such performance by refitting the engine interior with exotic components like titanium conrods and valves, and DLC-coated cams – allowing the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro to redline at 14,000 rpm, with peak power coming just 1000 rpm short at 13,000 rpm.
And lest not forget its beautiful symphony that will play out from that beautifully designed four-exit organ-pipe-inspired exhaust. For the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro, Akrapovič built it exclusively out of titanium with a carbon fibre heat shield. This performance is further complimented by a plethora of electronics on board. Starting with an eight-stage traction control system, front lift control that allows for controlled wheelies, and a launch control system. Add to this a quickshifter, lean-sensitive ABS, and cruise control, all managed through a sleek 5.5-inch colour TFT dash, and you've got a bike that's as smart as it is fast.
The chassis is equally impressive, with electronically adjustable Öhlins suspension ensuring optimal performance in any conditions. Further sweetening the deal are those unique partially spoked rims wrapped in exclusive Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tyres, this bike is ready to dominate both road and track.
Each Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro comes with its own certificate of authenticity, a bespoke bike cover, and a treasure trove of additional goodies, cementing its status as the holy grail for motorcycle collectors. As for its India launch, sadly that’s not happening.
