OnePlus Watch 2 builds upon the original model with significant upgrades to the operating system, battery life, and more.
OnePlus has unveiled its second-generation smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2, at Mobile World Congress 2024. The new Watch 2 builds upon the original model with significant upgrades to the operating system, battery life, and new health and fitness tracking features in hopes of disrupting the premium smartwatch space.
At the heart of the OnePlus Watch 2 is a "Dual Engine Architecture" that utilizes two chips and two operating systems. A Snapdragon W5 chip powers Wear OS, giving users access to the entire Google Play app store on their wrist. An additional BES2700 chip runs a real-time operating system (RTOS) to handle low-power functions.
OnePlus claims this dual-OS approach allows the Watch 2 to offer tremendous battery life without sacrificing functionality. In Smart Mode with Wear OS active, the battery can last up to 100 hours on a single charge. But in Power Saving Mode, with just the RTOS active, battery life extends up to 12 days.
Beyond the battery, the Watch 2 features a bright 1.43-inch AMOLED display under Corning Gorilla Glass, GPS, heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, stress tracking, and over 100 workout modes. It is water resistant up to 5ATM and built to military-grade durability standards.
The OnePlus Watch 2 comes in black and silver stainless steel models priced at Rs 24,999. It will be available for pre-order today and go on sale in India and select markets starting March 4 via the OnePlus website, Amazon and offline retailers.
