The Xiaomi 15 Pro version may remain exclusive to China.
Xiaomi has officially announced its Xiaomi 15 series smartphones will be headed to India on March 11. The lineup will include the premium Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which has just made its global debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona.
While the Chinese market received standard, Pro, and Ultra variants, the global announcement at MWC featured only the standard and Ultra models, indicating the Pro version may remain exclusive to China.
The Xiaomi 15 series devices are powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and feature camera systems co-developed with renowned German optics brand Leica. The smartphones will run on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, offering various AI-enhanced functionalities.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, initially launched in Xiaomi's home turf China last week before its MWC 2025 showcase, is expected to arrive in India in its global variant form rather than the Chinese version.
The device is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of high-speed UFS 4.1 storage. Its 6.73-inch AMOLED display offers a resolution of 3200x1440, adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, and impressive peak brightness of 3200 nits.
There's a notable difference in battery capacity between versions, with the Chinese variant housing a 6,000mAh battery while the global model comes with a 5,410mAh unit.
Both the models support 90W wired and 80W wireless charging capabilities.
There is Leica-tuned quad-camera system on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This includes a one-inch type 50MP Sony LYT-900 primary sensor with an f/1.63 aperture, a 50MP ultra-wide Samsung JN5 sensor, and two specialised telephoto lenses -- a 50MP sensor with 3x zoom and a 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto sensor offering 4.3x optical zoom. For selfies, a 32MP front-facing camera is provided. All cameras support 4K video recording at 60fps, with the primary and periscope cameras capable of reaching up to 120fps.
First introduced in China in October 2024, the standard Xiaomi 15 shares the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and Leica camera partnership as its Ultra counterpart, but in a more compact package.
The device features a 6.36-inch micro-curved OLED display with LTPO technology, offering 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 3200 nits peak brightness with Dolby Vision support.
Its triple rear camera system consists of a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom. The front houses a 32MP selfie camera.
Battery specifications include a 5,240mAh capacity with support for 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. Like the Ultra model, it runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0.
