The Nembharat is governed by the Narayanihiti Trust, and the platform will integrate multiple transport modes including cabs and auto-rickshaws.

World Economic Mobility Limited (WEML) has announced the launch of Nembharat, a new ride-booking platform designed to address persistent challenges in India’s shared mobility sector, including driver income instability, surge pricing, and passenger safety concerns. The application introduces a zero-commission model that allows drivers to retain their full earnings while offering commuters fixed fares through a prepaid, cashless system.

The launch comes at a time when the ride-hailing sector has witnessed driver strikes over low earnings and growing passenger dissatisfaction with unpredictable pricing and safety standards. By removing commission fees and subscription charges, Nembharat aims to create a more balanced ecosystem for both drivers and riders.

Speaking on Deepak K. Shah, Director and CEO of WEML, “Our platform will address the lack of income predictability for gig workers. He described the upcoming app as a national transport network built to provide clear details on driver pay and passenger costs.”

Governed by the Narayanihiti Trust, the platform will integrate multiple transport modes, including cabs and auto-rickshaws, under a unified framework with standard safety protocols. Dr Kanchi Sharma, Director and COO of WEML, stated that the system aligns with guidelines set by the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), positioning the app as a tool to balance workforce standards with consumer protection.

The rollout also comes amid increasing regulatory scrutiny of ride-hailing platforms regarding accountability and the social security of vehicle partners. WEML believes that eliminating the commission layer will help foster a more stable operating environment for fleet owners and individual drivers while ensuring predictable pricing for commuters.

As a public utility initiative, Nembharat aims to function as a national transport network that connects riders and drivers through a transparent, cashless system. By focusing on stable earnings for transport workers and fixed fares for passengers, the platform seeks to redefine service reliability and trust in India’s rapidly evolving mobility landscape.
