Audi unveils the world's first active digital light signature on the new Audi Q6 e-Tron electric SUV.
In a world premiere, Audi introduced the Audi Q6 e-Tron, featuring second-generation digital OLED technology that promises to revolutionise automotive lighting design and car-to-X communication. Audi unveils the world's first active digital light signature, an integral part of the optional package of digital light signatures. The headlights and rear lights come to life with a vibrant display of movement, creating a unique impression.
This new technology is made possible by a software module developed jointly by Audi and CARIAD, the Group's software company. The second-generation digital OLED rear lights feature six 360-segment OLED panels, generating new images every ten milliseconds through a specially developed algorithm.

The result is an active digital light signature that appears intelligent and interactive, showcasing the car's "brain activity" in constant motion. The Audi Q6 e-Tron offers a total of eight optional digital light signatures for the redesigned Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED rear lights 2.0.

Additionally, the second-generation digital OLED rear lights offer car-to-X communication capabilities, allowing them to interact with other road users. The communication light warns nearby vehicles of potential accidents or breakdowns by displaying specific static rear light signatures with integrated warning symbols.

The system is also equipped to activate warning symbols for emergency assistance, rear-end collision alert signals, hazard warning lights, emergency calls, roadside assistance calls, and emergency brake lights. The Audi Q6 e-Tron extends its safety concept to cyclists and drivers approaching from behind, warning them with specially adapted light signatures during the exit warning function.
