When launched, the new-gen Kia Seltos will continue to rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Tata Curvv, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun to name a few.
Kia has been working on the second generation model of the Seltos for a long time. Test mules of the same have been spotted on numerous occasions for the past year or so, both in India and on foreign soil. Kia is now gearing up to pull the covers off from the new-gen Seltos soon.
According to the Korean Car Blog, the second-gen Kia Seltos is ready to make its global debut on 10 December 2025. Codenamed SP3i, the new-gen Seltos is one of the most highly anticipated vehicles. The first-gen model made its debut in India back in August 2019 which was followed by a mid-cycle facelift in July 2023.
Meanwhile, the new-gen Kia Seltos continues getting snapped while on final stages of testing. A fresh set of spy images of the upcoming Seltos have surfaced on the internet. Although the prototype seen in the latest spy pics are completely under wraps, the images suggest a massive overhaul of the exterior design. From the outset, the upcoming iteration of Seltos seems visibly bigger and boxier than the current model.

The new-generation Seltos is expected to feature vertical LED daytime running lights connected by light bands and may incorporate some distinctive, possibly polarising, design elements. Notable highlights include redesigned front fenders, blacked-out A-pillars, newly styled ORVMs, flush roof rails, reworked LED DRLs within an all-new headlamp cluster, updated LED taillamps, and a shark-fin antenna.
A fresh set of black alloy wheels is also visible, suggesting this could be a mid-spec variant. Other visual updates expected are fresh front and rear bumpers, new skid plates, redesigned tailgate, and new diamond-cut alloy wheels. Previous spy shots have suggested revamped interiors including a new dashboard and fresh upholstery. We also expect more features added to the equipment including a Level 2 ADAS package.
Under the hood, the next-generation Kia Seltos is likely to retain the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines, while also introducing a new hybrid variant to the lineup. Reports suggest that an e-AWD version may be available in select international markets, though it is unlikely to make its way to India.

The new-gen Kia Seltos is expected to make its way to India, most likely by early 2026. While Kia hasn’t confirmed the launch date of the new Seltos in India, a company insider has said there will be an update regarding the same in the next couple of weeks.
