The upcoming scooter will make its India debut on August 15.
Ola Electric will be introducing a new electric scooter called the S1X, which will apparently be priced under Rs 1 lakh. This will be the most affordable two-wheeler from the homegrown brand and will rival most 110 cc and 125 cc ICE scooters in India. Its main rival though will be the extremely popular Honda Activa. The S1 Air currently retails at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Previously, Ola had announced an extension on the S1 Air’s introductory price window till August 15, 2023. Post this, the S1 Air will cost Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
The S1X is likely to be based on the S1 Air, so expect it to come with a telescopic fork and twin-shocks at the rear. It too, like the S1 Air, could possibly come with 12-inch steel wheels and drum brakes, both front and rear. Given that it will be more pocket friendly, it should in all probability have the same frame as S1 Air.
Apart from this, there isn’t any news yet on the battery capacity and features the S1X is likely to get once it is showcased on August 15, 2023. Ola could possibly omit the fancy TFT screen and some connected features in the interest of keeping costs in check.
