It’s the same red coloured electric scooter that Vida has been teasing for some time now.
Hero MotoCorp’s all-electric sub-brand, Vida, continues to tease the VX2 ahead of its launch on July 1. While up until now bits and panels of the scooters were being revealed, the latest ends up partially revealing the upcoming scooter. We already knew from before that the VX2 will basically be the production-version of the Vida Z Concept that Hero MotoCorp showcased first at EICMA 2024. So, the latest teaser doesn’t really surprise us as such. It’s the same red colored model and judging from the discreet showcase, the VX2 is expected to have quite the premium and upmarket appeal.
We are expecting Hero to position the VX2 as a low-cost, affordable model; therefore, it might be priced around the ₹1 lakh mark (ex-showroom). There might be multiple variants on offer as well. The top-spec Plus variant was already spotted last month at a dealership finished in matte yellow. The ‘Plus’ badging suggests that Hero might offer a bigger battery too. Currently, Hero MotoCorp has two battery packs on offer – 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh. Will the brand carry over these same options or go for something smaller with the VX2 remains to be seen.
If the upcoming Vida VX2 launches undercutting the current V2 series’ price, which ranges from ₹74,000 to ₹1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), then it will be the latest sub-₹1 lakh electric scooter to hit the market. Bajaj launched the new Chetak 3001 yesterday at ₹99,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the base variant of the TVS iQube costs ₹94,434. Ola also has the S1 X which is available with the choice of three battery packs and the one with the smaller 2 kWh option starts at ₹74,000 (ex-showroom).
