NHAI’s new cleanliness drive rewards highway users with a ₹1,000 FASTag recharge for reporting dirty NHAI-managed toll-plaza toilets via the Rajmargyatra app, valid until 31 October 2025.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a novel incentive scheme under its latest cleanliness drive. From now until 31 October 2025, highway users who report dirty or poorly maintained public toilets at NHAI-managed toll plazas will receive a ₹1,000 FASTag recharge.

This initiative aims to engage motorists in maintaining hygiene standards across the country’s extensive national-highway network and complements the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Steps to Claim Your ₹1,000 Reward

Motorists wishing to avail of the reward must use the updated ‘Rajmargyatra’ mobile app, developed by NHAI:

• Open the latest version of Rajmargyatra and select the “Report Toilet” option.

• Upload a geo-tagged photograph clearly showing the unhygienic condition.

• Provide your user name, precise location, Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) and mobile number.

• Submit the report.

Once validated, the ₹1,000 recharge will be credited to the FASTag account linked with the reported VRN. The recharge is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Important Terms and Eligibility

• Validity Period: 14 October 2023 to 31 October 2025.

• Frequency: Each VRN is entitled to one reward only during the entire period.

• Facility Coverage: Only toilets constructed, operated or maintained under NHAI jurisdiction qualify. Reports of facilities at fuel stations, dhabas or other non-NHAI locations will not be eligible.

• Daily Cap: Each NHAI toll-plaza toilet can generate one reward per day, regardless of how many users report it.

By leveraging user participation, the NHAI hopes to identify and rectify maintenance lapses swiftly while empowering highway commuters to contribute actively to a cleaner, healthier travel experience.
