Lavanya Wadgaonkar will assume her new role after serving as the Vice President (VP) of Nissan Global Communications.
Nissan Corporate has appointed Lavanya Wadgaonkar as its new acting Vice President and Chief Communications Officer. She will assume her new role from April 1 after serving as the Vice President of Nissan Global Communications.
With diverse and extensive experience in strategic communications, public affairs, brand management, marketing, and sustainability. Wadgaonkar also led and developed the communications and external and government affairs functions for Nissan Asia and Oceania.

Alongside her newly appointed role, she will continue her role as the global champion for DEI which is responsible for actively promoting, a diverse, supportive, and inclusive workplace.
Lavanya Wadgaonkar will report to Makoto Uchida, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). It should be noted that the appointment comes at a critical juncture as Nissan launches The Arc, its new business plan.

Under the ‘The Arc’ plan Nissan will launch 30 new models by 2026, of which 16 will be fully-electric models. Additionally, 60 percent of its existing ICE models will be refreshed by 2026 itself. Nissan will also work on reducing the cost of next-generation EVs by 30 percent. All changes underlined by Nissan in its ‘The Arc’ business plan will see the company “unlock a potential of 2.5 trillion yen in additional revenues by 2030.
