This three-row D-SUV is expected to feature hybrid power and be a sister car to an equivalent Renault model that will be launched in India around the same time.

Nissan has confirmed that its three-row SUV, which will be positioned above the X-Trail, will be launched in India in early 2027. This will be the final component of the strategy that Nissan initiated in mid-2024 with the launch of the X-Trail SUV and subsequently a facelift for the Magnite.

This three-row D-SUV is expected to feature hybrid power and be a sister car to an equivalent Renault model that will be launched in India around the same time. As revealed by Nissan, the vehicle will be produced in India and exported to both RHD and LHD markets, indicative of larger plans from their Indian manufacturing facilities.

The Dacia Bigster/Renault Boreal provide some indication of what's coming in this premium space, offering hints of size, presence, and possibly even a basic feature list.

Nissan and Renault's approach to move upward represents a marked difference from manufacturers like Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, and Kia, all of whom have been attempting to introduce premium sub-compact models or more features in their current range of sub-compact models.

These SUVs will be the Alliance's answer to the likes of the petrol-powered Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens Clavis, Mahindra XUV700, and the MG Hector Plus.
