The upcoming Nissan Gravite will now arrive on February 17, as a rival to the Renault Triber. Notably, both models share the same underpinnings with the Gravite being a badge-engineered version of the Triber.
Having initially announced the debut last month, the Nissan Gravite MPV is now slated to arrive in India on February 17, 2026. The Gravite will be the newest offering from Nissan in years, and will be a direct rival to the Renault Triber MPV. In fact, both the Triber and Gravite will share the same underpinnings, with the latter getting different looks and possibly features.
Much like the Renault Triber, the Nissan Gravite will be the sub-4-metre offering, packing seven seats across three rows. The teaser hints at the new V-Motion grille with muscular indents on the bonnet, and LED DRLs commanding the front fascia. The bonnet also carries ‘Gravite’ badging, something the masses seem to like. The profile looks nearly identical to the Triber, though you can spot a different set of wheels. The Triber uses very cleverly styled wheel covers, and we think Nissan will do the same with the Gravite too.

There’s no word on the interior yet, and we expect it to be similar to the Triber with changes to the upholstery. Nissan could add a feature or two to give the model some differentiation over the Renault offering. We expect to see the touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear AC vents, cupholders, wireless charging, USB charging ports, push-button start/stop and more. The MPV is also expected to pack six airbags, ABS, ESC, Hill Start Assist, TPMS, ISOFIX anchorages, and reverse parking sensors.
Powertrain will remain the same with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine churning out 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed manual and AMT unit. The MPV could be offered with a dealer-fitted CNG option, but it needs to be seen if it will be available at the time of launch.

The new Nissan Gravite is slated to arrive later in the year, and will be followed up with two more launches - the Tekton compact SUV - which incidentally was scheduled for debut on February 4. That plan has been delayed and the automaker is yet to confirm a new date for the Nissan Tekton's debut. Meanwhile, a bigger seven-seater SUV based on the Tekton will arrive in 2027, taking on the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO and the like.
