Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) has appointed Saurabh Vatsa as the new Deputy Managing Director, effective January 15. Reporting to Managing Director Rakesh Srivastava, Vatsa will play a crucial role in implementing the ongoing transformation roadmap for India. His focus includes supporting the company in delivering on the Mid Term Plan (MTP) and achieving the Ambition 2030 goals.
Saurabh Vatsa comes to Nissan from Stellantis, where he was a key member of the leadership team, leading the Citroen brand in India from its inception. During his tenure, he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business as Brand Head.
Before his role at Stellantis, Vatsa had a distinguished career at General Motors (GM) spanning over two decades, with significant leadership roles, including extended assignments in South Korea.
Frank Torres, President, Nissan India Operations said, “Vatsa's appointment underpins our commitment to invest $600m (Rs 5,300 crore) in India as part of the Alliance and introduce more products for the Indian consumer as part of the transformation plan. We are certain that the next phase of growth for Nissan will be exciting for all of us as we build on the success of the Nissan Magnite.”
A Delhi University graduate with an MBA from the International Management Institute, Saurabh Vatsa has further enriched his expertise through an executive management program at the London Business School.
