The 2025 Kuro also marks a shift in strategy from its previous 2023 avatar, adopting a different feature set and price band.
Nissan India has brought back its all-black Magnite Kuro for 2025. Launched at a starting price of ₹8.31 lakh (ex-showroom) and positioned on the mid-spec N-Connecta trim, the new Kuro aims to offer a sportier aesthetic and value-led enhancements to appeal to young urban customers. But beyond its dramatic visual appeal, the 2025 Kuro also marks a shift in strategy from its previous 2023 avatar, adopting a different feature set and price band. It also makes a few trade-offs when compared to both the standard Magnite and the previous Kuro.

The name Kuro, which is Japanese for "black," is not only a name, but it also encompasses the overall personality of this special edition. In drawing comparisons with Tata's popular #Dark edition range, the Magnite Kuro takes the blackout theme on the outside and inside, looking to appeal to young customers and urban buyers seeking a sportier look.
All these additions are purely cosmetic; there are no mechanical updates to the powertrain, suspension, or drivetrain. The Magnite Kuro still comes with the same 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and turbo-petrol engines, including CVT options.
Inside, the Magnite Kuro abandons the dual-tone (black and tan) theme of the base model for an all-black interior, which Nissan calls Midnight Black. These include:
Though these modifications enhance cabin atmosphere for individuals looking for a sportier look, the feature list remains identical to the N-Connecta model, aside from the lack of a reverse camera, a surprising consideration since it's standard on the standard N-Connecta trim.
As the Kuro receives visual upgrades, removal of a reverse camera (a convenience and safety feature) can be considered a compromise by some customers. Nevertheless, the inclusion of a dashcam and wireless charger, though dealer-level add-ons, can be attractive to city dwellers.

The 2023 Magnite Kuro edition was launched on the top-end XV Premium variant, offering a broader range of features. In comparison, the 2025 version is based on the lower N-Connecta, making it more affordable but less feature-rich.
Key Differences:

Meanwhile, the Magnite Kuro undercuts the majority of these, providing an entry point for budget-friendly consumers to the blackout edition run. The Magnite was also recently crash tested by Global NCAP, where the vehicle scored 5 stars on adult safety and 3 stars on child safety.
