The Japanese automaker currently sells only one model in India, but is gearing up for three launches in 2026–2027.

Nissan India is increasing prices across its lineup by up to three per cent from January 2026, according to sources. The Japanese automaker currently retails only the Magnite subcompact SUV in India, which is priced between Rs 5.62 lakh and Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). That said, the automaker is gearing up to introduce three new offerings by 2027, as part of its turnaround strategy for the Indian market. Apart from Nissan, carmakers including Mercedes-Benz and MG Motor India have announced price hikes for January.

The Nissan Magnite has been holding the fort for the automaker, competing against the Tata Punch, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, and the like. However, the company will finally gravitate towards newer segments with new B- and C-segment models in the pipeline. The automaker will kick off 2026 with the Tekton compact SUV, which is expected to take on the Hyundai Creta, while sharing underpinnings with the new-generation Renault Duster.

The Nissan Tekton will be followed up with the Gravite MPV, which is expected to arrive by March next year. The Nissan Gravite will be based on the same CMF-A+ platform as the Renault Triber and is expected to stick to the formula of packing seven seats in a sub-4-metre body shell. Nissan also has a nip and tuck update for the Magnite in the works for 2026, which should help keep it relevant against rivals.

The company will also launch a new midsize SUV in 2027, which will be a bigger three-row offering based on the same platform as the Tekton. While details are sparse about the new SUV, it is expected to draw power from petrol and petrol-hybrid engine options, which is significantly different from the diesel-powered rivals like the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700. Notably, both offerings are available with turbo petrol engine options as well. There are also models like the Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus that will take on the new three-row SUV from Nissan.
