Bengaluru-based Oben Electric is developing a new e-bike platform called O100, which will aim to enter the 100 cc-equivalent electric motorcycle segment. This will be the company's second in-house platform, and it will be specifically designed for long-term use in price-sensitive markets across urban and rural India.
The platform will utilise Oben's proprietary lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery technology. It will also feature other components manufactured in-house, including the motor, vehicle control units, and charging systems. The platform will feature a modular design that will support multiple variants and battery configurations.

Electric motorcycles based on this platform are expected to launch in the latter half of 2025. The company intends to price these new electric motorcycles below ₹1 lakh, targeting daily commuters. Up until now Lectrix scooters have dominated proceedings in the EV space, but a lot of brands including Ather feel that there’s a big opportunity in the electric motorcycle segment and the latest addition to our market is the Zenvo Emara.
This development represents part of Oben Electric's broader strategy to expand its presence across different market segments in India's growing electric vehicle sector. Furthermore, the brand also plans to increase its footprint with more buyers and dealerships in the country, and the upcoming electric bike is expected to deliver exactly that.
