Krutrim has unveiled its mobile app and opened access to its cloud platform.
Ola Co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal's artificial intelligence (AI) startup Krutrim has unveiled its mobile app and opened access to its cloud platform, ramping up its ambitions to take on major GenAI and cloud players such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure.
Krutrim, which aims to develop full-stack AI capabilities, launched its Android app on May 4 after the Krutrim chatbot open beta went live in February. Built on Krutrim's own large language model (LLM), the assistant can understand and respond to queries in over 10 Indian languages. It assists with tasks like booking cabs, setting reminders and generating content without switching apps.
The company stated that it has trained its language model on over 2 trillion tokens, with a large representation of Indic languages. Features like voice assistant capabilities and integration of multiple data types are in the works. Krutrim also aims to offer models for computer vision, natural language processing, and generative AI soon.
Krutrim has also opened its cloud platform to allow enterprises, researchers and developers to build products and services using its AI infrastructure and models. Through Krutrim Cloud, users will get access to advanced AI computers and both Krutrim's proprietary and open-source models.
The move positions Krutrim as a direct competitor to AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, which currently dominate the cloud services market. Krutrim claims its platform will help developers build AI-powered solutions at a fraction of current costs.
