OnePlus has now confirmed that the stable OxygenOS 14 update based on Android 14 will be rolling out on September 25.
As Google prepares for the imminent launch of its flagship Pixel 8 series in early October, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has announced that its current premium offering, the OnePlus 11, will receive an update to Android 14 on September 25.
This comes at a challenging time for OnePlus which is facing production delays for its first foldable device, the OnePlus Open, originally slated for launch in August.
OnePlus has now confirmed that the stable OxygenOS 14 update based on Android 14 will be rolling out on September 25 for the OnePlus 11, ahead of the software even being available on Google's own Pixel 7 smartphones. Key rival Samsung has also only released a beta version of its Android 14-based OneUI 7 update.
For its part, OnePlus has promised a public beta release of OxygenOS 14 for the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R and OnePlus Nord 3 in the lead up to the stable update on September 25, at least for the flagship 11 model.
OnePlus claims OxygenOS 14 will deliver improvements across 6 key areas - CPU, ROM and gaming performance via HyperBoost, touch sensitivity and accuracy through HyperTouch, and graphics rendering with HyperRendering.
