OnePlus 12 to Launch on December 4 During Anniversary Event

OnePlus has announced that it will launch the successor to its flagship OnePlus 11 smartphone, the OnePlus 12, at an event on December 4 in China. The event will celebrate the 10th anniversary of OnePlus and is scheduled to begin at 7 pm local time. The company is also expected to unveil the OnePlus Watch 2 alongside its latest flagship.

Through posts on Weibo, OnePlus has shared some key details about the upcoming OnePlus 12. It will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and feature a 2K resolution BOE X1 OLED LTPO display with DisplayMate's top A+ rating. OnePlus claims this will be the first 2K screen in China to achieve such a certification.

Previous leaks suggest the OnePlus 12 may sport a large 6.8-inch QHD+ curved display with a 32MP front camera. The rear cameras are rumoured to include a 50MP primary camera that uses Sony's LYT-808 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom. The cameras are tuned by Hasselblad. Upfront, there is a 32MP selfie camera.

A 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging is expected to keep the phone powered. It will run on the latest ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.

OnePlus will provide more details about the upcoming flagship in China at its December 4 launch event. The global launch of the OnePlus 12 is expected to take place in January 2023.
