The deliveries for the two electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6, began on March 20, 2025.
Mahindra and Mahindra has announced that it has sold more than 10,000 units of the XEV 9e and BE 6 electric SUVs. Deliveries for the two e-SUVs began on March 20, 2025. Mahindra is currently only delivering the top-spec ‘Pack Three’ variants of the XEV 9e and BE 6.
The brand hasn’t yet announced how many of the 10,000 units sold were XEV 9e and BE 6, but going by the trend of their sales, the XEV 9e is the more popular of the two. In April, when Mahindra announced it had sold 3,000 units of the two e-SUVs, the XEV 9e had 59 per cent of the total sales.
The XEV 9e is priced at between ₹21.90 - 30.50 lakh, while the BE 6 is priced between ₹18.90 - 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The top-spec Pack Three variants of the two SUVs come with a 79 kWh battery pack. In the XEV 9e, it has a claimed range of 656 km, while in the BE 6, it has a claimed range of 683 km.
Both the e-SUVs are loaded to the brim with features. While the XEV 9e gets a triple-screen layout, the BE 6 has a dual-screen layout. All the screens in both the SUVs measure 12.3 inches. Both also get ADAS, illuminated panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, up to seven airbags as well as a 5-star rating from Bharat NCAP.
During the same period (April-May 2025), Mahindra’s two electric SUVs have come very close to Tata Motors’ overall electric vehicle (EV) sales. In these two months, Tata Motors sold more than 11,000 EVs, while Mahindra sold close to 10,000 units. This is a clear indication that other players have also started gaining traction in the EV space, which was earlier heavily dominated by Tata Motors. However, it remains to be seen if Mahindra can sustain this momentum or it is just a new model craze in the market.
