Porsche India has launched the 911 Turbo 50 Years at ₹4.05 crore (ex-showroom, India). This model marks the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo moniker that debuted in 1974. Porsche will make only 1,974 units of the special edition model globally, based on the 911 Turbo S.
Compared to the 911 Turbo S, the 50 Years edition model is ₹70.15 lakh dearer. However, it isn’t the most expensive 911 model on sale in India, as the 911 S/T is ₹20.69 lakh more expensive than the 911 Turbo 50 Years.
The new limited edition model has a few cosmetic updates to celebrate the Turbo model. The rear wing along with the intake vents on the rear fenders and the rear diffuser are finished in a dark grey. The 911 Turbo 50 Years edition also gets a special badge on the rear engine cover that features a turbocharger as well as 1974-2024 written on it.
Inside, it also gets a special plaque that reads ‘Turbo 50’ as well as ‘Turbo 50’ lettering embossed on the rear left seat back. The special edition 911 gets tartan seat upholstery with ‘Turbo 50’ embossed on the headrests.
The 911 Turbo 50 Years edition will also be available with an optional Heritage Design package. With this, it is available with a special Aventurine Green Metallic, a historic Porsche crest and white graphics. It also gets Sport Classic alloy wheels and all badges are finished in gold. The Sport Chrono watch on the dashboard also gets a historic design that is reminiscent of the Porsche 356.
Like the standard 911 Turbo, the 50 Years edition is powered by a 3.7-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that produces 641 bhp and 800 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels using an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 911 Turbo 50 Years can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in 2.7 seconds and 0-200 kmph in 8.9 seconds. Along with a sports exhaust system, the ride height of the 50 Years edition has been lowered by 10 mm.
